Developing Mixed Reality apps for Microsoft HoloLens at Realities Centre

RESEARCH

Realities Centre is a London Augmented, Virtual & Mixed Reality incubator, supporting the ecosystem through events, demos, studio facilities, workshops, training and more.

We took their 2-day workshop ‘Learn to Develop Mixed Reality Apps for Microsoft HoloLens’. Led by Dr John Holder, the course covered all the essentials needed to get developing for a Unity3D / Visual Studio / HoloLens workflow. With the help of Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Toolkit we experimented with gesture and voice interactions, object and surface collisions, spatial mapping and of course placing hologram cats on tables. Highly recommended.
