Radio Design makes a debut TV appearance on BBC Four in ‘James May’s Big Trouble in Model Britain’. The two-part documentary is a wonderful glimpse into the world of the iconic model railway brand Hornby, as the company attempts to turn its fortunes around and looks to the future.

Our director Ben features in episode 2, welcoming Hornby’s Marketing & Product Development Director, Simon Kohler, into the studio to discuss our ideas for a digital strategy. Ben introduces Simon to the exciting possibilities of VR for the first time, spending the morning fixing a broken robot and driving a virtual shunter train. For his first time in a headset, Simon picked it up very quickly and immediately saw the potential of immersive technology for Hornby.

The programme aired on 13th March 2019. You can catch the clip on iPlayer in Ep.2, beginning at 37:43.
